Welcome to the website where everything is shown in a magnified perspective, a site that offers both the artistic and scientific aspects of Nature 🙂
The advent of The Internet has undoubtedly brought people from all walks of life together, and knowledge is now as far as a mouse-click away. People spend a lot of time on the web learning and seeing new things everyday, most of which are common, and mostly based on the perspectives from other people. Of course, things can get really boring with time.
On the contrary, things become horribly fascinating when you are looking from a different point of view, in this case, A Magnified World of Macro Photography! Imagine yourself shrunken to a mere few inches: your view of the world will be, well, out of this world 🙂 You will be able to really see detailed features not normally seen with our naked eyes, such as the eye arrangements of a cute and common jumping spider, mating between two bizarre stalk-eye flies, the male reproductive structures (called stamen) of flowers, the unique horizontal pupils of an Oriental Vine Snake, and many, many more. There is just so much to see, learn and appreciate!
For those who are curious about the spider eyes, stalk-eye flies, flower stamen and horizontal pupils, do check out the photos below:

Eye arrangement of a jumping spider (Salticidae). These spiders generally have two large eyes in the middle, plus one each on the left and right; two at the sides of the head, and two more and the back of the head, a total of 8 eyes!

Stalk-eye Flies are some of the most unique insects in the world, with very prolonged stalks carrying eyes at the far end!

Stigma of our Malaysian national flower (Hibiscus rosa sinensis). These female structures receive pollen.

The Oriental Vine Snakes have binocular vision evident from their horizontal pupils, making them fast and accurate hunters.
Well, I should try and keep this short: It doesn’t matter whether you are here to enjoy or share photos and scientific knowledge, or here to learn a few tricks or two about macro photography, you are most welcomed, and I sincerely hope that you enjoy your tour of the magnified world!
